Asia Video Summit Returns in 2022 with a Focus on a Future of Growth and Sustainability in Asia

Singapore, Oct 25, 2022 - (ACN Newswire via SEAPRWire.com) - The annual marquee event of the Asian video industry, the Asia Video Summit (https://asiavideosummit.com), will return as a full hybrid event this year on 1-2 November 2022, with physical events in both Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as a live stream of all sessions to be made available on its interactive event platform. The Asia Video Summit is organized by Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) with Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the Lead Sponsor. The aim of the Asia Video Summit (Summit) is to tell a holistic story of the state of the video industry, looking at all aspects of it and articulated by its decision makers, to provide its delegates with a comprehensive view of the state of the video industry today. In the post-COVID-19 era, media and entertainment companies have been the darlings of Wall Street. This narrative has recently changed, however, and arguably irrational exuberance has given way to irrational pessimism. But is the streaming business model fundamentally flawed, or is this just a recalibration in an era of inflation and post-pandemic trauma? How do the trajectories of investment vs monetization balance each other? And where does Asia sit compared to other parts of the world? Do subscriber numbers foretell a golden period of growth in Asia that can counter negative narratives from the West? At this year's Summit, we will be speaking to the people who are determining the future of the video industry in Asia. Besides the State and Future of the Video Industry, we will also explore the growing role and Advance of Advertising, the technology Behind the Customer Experience, a detailed look at the role of News and Sports today and the burning topic of Environmental Sustainability. Some of the key speakers of the Summit include:Saugato Banerjee, Managing Director Asia, A+E Networks- Johan Buse, Chief, Consumer Business Group, StarHub- Kirana Chew, Deputy Director, Planning & Business Development, Strategic Content Group, True Corporation- Vivek Couto, Executive Director, Media Partners Asia- James Gibbons, President & Managing Director, Western Pacific, Warner Bros. Indonesia Market Poised for Big Growth in Streaming ACN Newswire

Indonesia Market Poised for Big Growth in Streaming

JAKARTA, Oct 11, 2022 - (ACN Newswire via SEAPRWire.com) - For the first time in three years the Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) returned to Jakarta to host Indonesia in View 2022, an event that welcomed some of the industry's biggest players for a day of discussions dissecting the opportunities for growth in this expansive market.Opening comments were made by Yuliandre Darwis, Commissioner with the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) who talked about the development of the KPI over the last twenty years, and the hope for revisions to the broadcasting law which could see greater responsibilities given to them.Highlights of the Indonesia in View Report, to be published by AVIA, were given by Bettina Cavenagh, President Director, Clarity Research Indonesia, outlining the state of Indonesia's video markets in the post-pandemic economy. Pay television had plateaued and while DTH services were the biggest victims of increased broadband penetration, cable numbers were increasing meaning the overall pay TV market remained significant, even if ARPU's were under pressure. But all eyes were now on the premium OTT market. Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) has grown by more than 50% from 2020 to 2021, to 11.5M subscribers, while digital advertising grew by 33% over the same period. This set the scene for much debate throughout the conference on the relative merits of the subscription versus the advertising led business model for OTT.In a conversation around growth and monetization, Hermawan Sutanto, COO of Vidio talked of the need to educate the market to pay for premium OTT services and Guntur Siboro, Country Head for Lionsgate Play further made the point that ad supported VOD (AVOD) was a different ballgame which required significant investment to monetise successfully. Whatever the business model, Avijit Duta, Deputy Country Manager for Viu, emphasized the need for the business to be sustainable and everyone was witnessing rising production costs as the production talent pool was still limited today. In his keynote conversation, Sutanto Hartono, Managing Director of EMTEK and CEO of SCM and Vidio, discussed Vidio's emphasis on local originals and live sports as differentiators in their quest to acquire customers and keep churn down. While sports rights were expensive and not owned in perpetuity, they played a crucial role in a growth strategy. Marlo Budiman, CEO & President Director, Link Net, later added that while the pay TV market had plateaued, its death knell had not quite sounded yet and also attributed this to the role of sports and original content keeping OTT churn low.Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo, Managing Director of MNC's Vision+, also talked about the importance of local original content and that Vision+ was increasing their investment in this sector for the service. She also pointed out that while Vision+ was primarily subscription led, the accompanying RCTI+ service was advertising led. There was little doubt about the importance advertising played in the growth prospects for the market when Gavin Buxton, Managing Director, Asia for Magnite, Florencia Eka, Country Manager, Client Services, for The Trade Desk, and Lesley Simpson, Country Manager for WeTV and iflix Indonesia, got together. They agreed that OTT was the natural evolution of TV and provided unique opportunities for digital advertisers given the engagement with viewers. And while fragmentation of services was an issue, it was clear that there was more than enough scale in premium OTT as they looked forward to sustained growth in the sector.Indonesia in View is generously sponsored by Gold Sponsors A+E Networks, Vidio and Vision+ and Silver Sponsors Akamai, Broadpeak, CDNetworks, Conviva, INVIDI, Irdeto, NAGRA, SES, TV5MONDE and YouTube. In July 2022, CMS has overcome challenges under pandemic prevention and control, and took only 6 months (including the Chinese Spring Festival) to complete the enrollment of all 1,800 subjects in China bridging trial of Methylthioninium Chloride Enteric-coated Sustained-release Tablets. It took only 2.5 months (including the Spring Festival) to complete the enrollment of all 220 subjects in the China bridging trial of Tildrakizumab previously. With its platform getting increasingly matured, CMS is expected to benefit from the multiplier effect the platform provides and enhance its future scalability.Southeast Asia Platform: A one-stop operating platform empowers global pharmaceutical companies to enter Southeast Asia marketCMS 2022 interim report indicated it has achieved impressive progresses in the Southeast Asia market. With the rapid development of China bio-pharmaceutical industry, increased industrial scale and enhanced drugs quality and scientific research level, Chinese pharmaceutical companies have gained stronger competitiveness in the global market, which has presented a critical opportunity for Chinese pharmaceutical companies to develop overseas market. Compared to the United States, Europe, and Japan market with mature pharmaceutical system, Southeast Asia and other emerging markets have greater unmet pharmaceutical demands and provide more opportunities. Pharmaceutical industry trends in the past two years indicates that the Southeast Asia market has drawn great attention and the connection between China innovative drug industry and Southeast Asia market has been getting stronger. At this point, CMS stands out with comprehensive Southeast Asia business development strategy.Given the information in its 2022 interim report, CMS Southeast Asia business has achieved preliminary results. It has set up an independent operating entity with clear organizational structure, and has built a core team for its business in Southeast Asia, CMS aimed to form a platform covers innovative R&D, production and sales, helping Biotech and pharmaceutical companies in Europe, America, Japan, and China to rapidly enter the Southeast Asia market and achieve mutual beneficial cooperation and strategic complementarity. In terms of products, CMS newly acquired the innovative EyeOP1 Glaucoma Treatment Device in August 2022, which has been approved for marketing in Southeast Asia. At the same time, CMS's Southeast Asia business entity has obtained exclusive rights for several insulin products in 11 countries in Southeast Asia, which is an initiative for insulin products of mainland China to enter the Southeast Asia market. As a rigid demand for diabetes, this product series has the advantages of excellent quality and affordable price. In Southeast Asia market, the major insulin products are European and American imported products with high price and the penetration of insulin products is significantly insufficient, which indicates a huge market potential. The platform in Southeast Asia market is bound to become an important engine driving CMS's future development.ConclusionPlatform building requires a solid foundation, but the potential of the platform is unlimited. As a "Platform Company", CMS will leverage its accumulated advantages to continuously optimize it platform, thus laying a solid foundation for its high growth and business sustainability. As of now, CMS 's PE-TTM is trading only 7.2 times, and its TTM dividend yield reaches 5.5%. Given its growth potential, steady operation, organized development strategy, combined with the strong resilience of the pharmaceutical and medical aesthetic industries, CMS can achieve " Davis Double Strike " is worth looking forward to.Media ContactMedia Team, CMSEmail: ir@cms.net.cnWebsite: http://www.cms.net.cn/Source: China Medical System Holdings Ltd. Jurong Port, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific and JERA Asia Come Together to Explore Establishing an Ammonia Direct Combustion Power Plant

Singapore, Aug 22, 2022 - (JCN Newswire via SEAPRWire.com) - Jurong Port, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific (MHI-AP), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and JERA Asia, a subsidiary of JERA, today concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore establishing a 100% ammonia direct combustion power plant on Jurong Island, Singapore, which houses the country's chemical and energy industries.Under the MoU, a joint study will be conducted, where a 60MW class gas turbine combined cycle plant fueled by 100% ammonia is planned to be set up to produce carbon-neutral electricity, as well as stimulate ammonia demand to be ready for ammonia bunkering in future. This MoU builds upon an initial agreement between Jurong Port and MHI-AP signed in August 2021 for a pre-feasibility study on ammonia direct combustion technology for green power generation, which was concluded successfully in March 2022.In February this year, the Singapore government raised its climate ambition to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by or around 2050. This project is in alignment with the overall national decarbonization goals, as it aims to utilize ammonia - which can efficiently transport and store hydrogen in a liquid state at low cost - as a fuel to generate carbon-free electricity, and as the main bunkering fuel in future to decarbonize the maritime sector. The MoU will hence explore the viability and commercialization of ammonia for these purposes."We feel this MoU could help pave the way for encouraging the adoption of hydrogen in Singapore through aggregation of demand across multiple sectors, mainly the power sector and the maritime sector, thereby addressing the chicken-and-egg conundrum of infrastructure versus demand needs for maritime and domestic power generation. This collaboration is certainly consistent with the spirit of reinforcing Singapore's premier bunkering hub status - for current, transition and future fuels," said Ooi Boon Hoe, Chief Executive Officer, Jurong Port.Osamu Ono, Managing Director, MHI-AP, said: "Ammonia, which consists of hydrogen and nitrogen, is a highly efficient hydrogen carrier and can be directly combusted as a carbon neutral fuel, thereby contributing to the establishment of a robust hydrogen value chain. At MHI, we believe that ammonia and hydrogen are key fuels that can help countries meet their net zero goals, and this MoU is an exciting opportunity for us to contribute our technology and expertise to achieve sustainable development in Singapore and subsequently realize the global sustainability agenda.""JERA is committed to providing cutting edge solutions to the world's energy issues and is actively working to strengthen both the ammonia and hydrogen value chains. We believe this MoU offers a unique opportunity to support Singapore's decarbonization efforts while advancing the ammonia technology development for carbon neutral power generation. Through initiatives like this, JERA will leverage its experience and capabilities to help countries to reach their net-zero CO2 emissions targets and to build a clean energy supply chain in the region," said Toshiro Kudama, Chief Executive Officer, JERA Asia.Together, the three companies will contribute to achieving net-zero CO2 emissions in Singapore by leveraging their technology, resources and expertise.About Jurong PortJurong Port (JP) is a world-class multipurpose port operator serving as Singapore's premier gateway for general and bulk cargo.
