However, the company has now succeeded in a two-stage film deposition process using oxygen and hydrogen.This two-stage film deposition process reduces the risk of surface oxidation of the base caused by hydrogen film deposition and allows high-purity film deposition that maintains ruthenium purity at almost 100% using oxygen film deposition. Furthermore, by forming the base first using hydrogen film deposition, the ruthenium film on top of the base created using oxygen film deposition will be smooth and dense, achieving a lower resistance than before.Generally, specific resistivity increases when film thickness decreases, which is an issue in film deposition of semiconductors. TOKYO, Jun 22, 2022 - (JCN Newswire via SEAPRWire.com) - Eisai Co., Ltd. today announced publication of results from an early phase evaluation that aimed to estimate potential economic value of its investigational anti-amyloid-beta (Abeta) protofibril antibody lecanemab in people living with early Alzheimer's disease (AD) using a validated disease simulation model, AD Archimedes Condition Event (AD ACE) model1,2,3 from the healthcare payer and societal perspectives in the United States, in the peer-reviewed journal Neurology and Therapy. This is the second publication of lecanemab's potential value. It follows the evaluation of the long-term health outcomes using simulation modeling of lecanemab published in Neurology and Therapy in April 2022.4 While the healthcare payer perspective focuses on direct care costs (e.g., outpatient and inpatient services, medications, intervention costs, nursing home and home healthcare services), the societal perspective further considers societal costs (e.g., productivity loss and informal care costs). As reported in the previous publication, it was suggested that compared to standard of care* (SoC), individuals treated with lecanemab in addition to SoC (lecanemab+SoC) may potentially experience slower disease progression to mild, moderate and severe AD from baseline by 2.51, 3.13 and 2.34 years on average, respectively. The preliminary results of this model-based simulation could possibly translate into additional quality-adjusted life years (QALY**) and reduction in the formal and informal care costs***. Additionally, the AD ACE model framework used in this study allowed assessment of the potential value of lecanemab in different scenarios and sensitivity analyses, including the impact of patient subsets, alternative treatment stopping rules**** and potential dosing regimens as well as major sources of uncertainty. Eisai is committed to conducting and sharing these types of clinical and socioeconomic analyses to establish trust as we work to potentially bring lecanemab to people living with early AD who have confirmed presence of amyloid pathology in the brain. To that end, Eisai would like to provide a common foundation for stakeholders' discourse regarding the potential clinical and socioeconomic value of lecanemab from the societal perspective, not to assign a price for lecanemab at this time. This model-based simulation was conducted using the results of a Phase 2b clinical trial (Study 201) evaluating the efficacy and safety of lecanemab for early AD with confirmed amyloid pathology as well as published literature. It also estimated the potential economic value of lecanemab+SoC over a broad range of willingness-to-pay thresholds from $50,000 to $200,000 per QALY gained as recommended by the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER)*****. Lecanemab+SoC was predicted to result in a gain of 0.61 QALYs and a decrease in total non-treatment costs of $8,707 per person from the healthcare payer perspective (Societal perspective: 0.64 QALYs gain and $11,214 decrease) compared to the SoC for patients with early AD who have confirmed presence of amyloid pathology. The potential annual value-based price (VBP) of lecanemab was estimated at $9,249 to $35,605 (Societal perspective: $10,400 to $38,053) based on this early economic assessment. ICER's value framework5 indicates that value cannot be wholly derived from measures of clinical and cost-effectiveness, so contextual considerations and an examination of other benefits and disadvantages are also added into the framework when assessing long-term value. This may lead to using the societal perspective and higher end of the broad range of willingness-to-pay threshold in estimating the justifiable price of lecanemab, given the large societal burden of AD relative to direct healthcare costs. JAKARTA, Jun 22, 2022 - (ACN Newswire via SEAPRWire.com) - State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) posted a record net profit of Rp29.3 trillion in 2021 following a successful business transformation.President director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, addressing an online press conference on Pertamina's participation in the Dubai Expo, which was accessed from Jakarta on March 18 (ANTARA/HO-Pertamina)The 2021 transformation helped push up its consolidated net profit (audited) to US$2.046 billion or around Rp29.3 trillion, president director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday.The figure was almost double compared to the 2020 net profit of Rp15.3 trillion and exceeded the 2021 Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) target by 154 percent.In 2021, Pertamina transformed its business by increasing efficiency and production, carrying out energy transition, developing oil and gas infrastructure, and implementing the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) project.Widyawati said Pertamina's successful transformation in 2021 was owing to the formation of the oil and gas holding with six sub-holdings: upstream sub-holding, refining and petrochemical sub-holding, commercial and trading sub-holding, gas sub-holding, integrated marine logistics sub-holding, and new and renewable energy sub-holding."This transformation is a strategic step to adapt to future business changes, moving more agile and faster, focusing on broader and aggressive business development," Widyawati said.Pertamina's positive financial performance was also demonstrated by earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of US$9.2 billion.This shows that Pertamina's finances are in a healthy (AA) and safe condition amid the disruption and geopolitical challenges affecting the global oil, gas, and energy industry, Widyawati said.Pertamina's net profit was the consolidated profit of all subsidiaries from upstream, processing, to downstream.Most of the profit was contributed by the upstream sector's revenue, which surged due to rising Indonesian crude prices (ICP). The downstream sector remained under pressure from the high cost of fuel production, the largest component of which is crude oil, Widyawati said.In 2021, upstream oil and gas production increased from 863 thousand oil barrels equivalent per day (MBOEPD) in 2020 to 897 MBOEPD. Thus, Pertamina contributed more than 60 percent to national oil and gas production.In addition, with Pertamina's massive drilling, production at Rokan Block also increased. Various efficiency programs also resulted in cost savings of US$1.4 billion.Fuel production was also achieved according to the target, so there were no additional imports. Since April 2019, Pertamina is no longer importing solar and Avtur fuel, Widyawati said.Pertamina has also completed the construction of two giant oil and gas tankers, namely VLCC Pertamina Pride and Pertamina Prime, which will be used for the global market.Meanwhile, to improve fuel supply reliability in Eastern Indonesia, Pertamina has built and operated 13 new fuel terminals.Pertamina is also running National Strategic Projects (PSN), including the Balikpapan RDMP Refinery (47 percent completion), Balongan RDMP refinery (68.5 percent completion), Cilacap Green Refinery, Tuban GRR Refinery, as well as other priority projects to strengthen Pertamina's petrochemicals business such as Polypropylene Balongan, Revamping Aromatic TPPI, and Olefin TPPI, she said.Integrated digitization from upstream to downstream has been one of the keys to Pertamina's successful controlling of the production and distribution of fuel, as well as the improvement in the service quality to the community.Through its Integrated Command Center, all operational activities can be monitored online and in real-time.
